Frequently Asked Questions

What primary services do you offer?

We offer comprehensive home watch services, conducting regular visual inspections inside and outside your home to detect any changes or issues. Additionally, we provide access coordination for alarm, pest control, and family visits.

How often do you inspect?

Our visit schedule is tailored during our initial meet-and-greet session with you. We take time to understand your property concerns and determine the frequency of visits that best aligns with your comfort and needs.

How much does it cost?

Peace of mind comes at a surprisingly affordable cost. On average, our clients spend less than $100.00 per month. The actual cost depends on the monthly visit frequency, with twice a month being the typical arrangement for most of our clients.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes.  We are fully insured and registered with the State of Maine as a Limited Liability Company.

What can I expect when you inspect my home?

Our inspection typically takes about 20 minutes or more for an average-sized home. During this visit, we conduct a thorough exterior check, looking for storm damage or vandalism. Inside, we inspect every room for water infiltration or pests, running water in all faucets to keep traps filled and prevent sewer gases from entering. We also complete a comprehensive 4-page inspection report using our reporting app, which is emailed to you upon completion. To enhance security, we vary our visit times and days to prevent potential criminals from predicting our schedule, ensuring your home remains protected.

Do I have to have hire a home watch service if my home will be vacant for an extended period?

In a word "YES".

"Most standard homeowners policies have coverage exclusions if a home is deemed vacant. This is different than if a home is just unoccupied. The vacancy exclusions come into play if a home has been vacant for sixty days or more prior to the date of loss. For seasonal homes, each insurance company has different underwriting requirements which may or may not require that the home be checked on a regular basis when it is unoccupied."

I shut my heat and water off, do I still need home watch services?

Even when you've closed up your home without electricity, water, or heat, it's still susceptible to the forces of Mother Nature. High winds, snowstorms, and heavy rain can wreak havoc on your property. Are you at ease in your other residence, wondering about your property's condition? Did the last storm damage your roof, leading to water leaks? Has someone broken in and ransacked your home? Having the assurance that your home is safe during your absence is priceless.
